Application development for UK businesses.
Spreadsheets, email threads and a patchwork of tools carry a business a long way, until they do not. Krapton builds web and business applications for UK teams that need one place where the work happens: a customer portal, an operations dashboard, a booking or case-management system, a SaaS product ready for paying users.
We start with the people who will use the application and the decisions it needs to support, prototype the workflow, then build a first release that is genuinely usable. Role-based interfaces, dependable backend services, integrations with the systems you already run and a path to keep evolving the product.

Why UK businesses
choose Krapton for application development.
Designed around real roles
Interfaces for the people who use them every day: admins, customers, field staff, partners, each with the permissions and views their job needs.
Backends that last
Well-structured services, relational data models, background jobs and audit trails, built for the scale and reporting you will need later.
Connected to what you already run
Single sign-on with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, CRM, accounting, payment and messaging integrations from the first release.
A first release, then evidence
A focused version that ships, instrumented so the next increment is decided by how people actually use it.

What the engagement can include.
Define the people who will use the application and the decisions it needs to support. A focused first release helps validate the workflow before expanding the scope.
Product discovery and workflow prototypes
Role-based interfaces, backend services and databases
Integration testing, deployment and handover

A clear path
from brief to release.
Four stages, each producing something you can see and decide on. Milestones, acceptance criteria and demonstrations are agreed before we commit.
01
Discovery and workflow prototypes
Interviews, process mapping and clickable prototypes of the key journeys, tested with real users before development starts.
02
Architecture and delivery plan
Data model, integrations, hosting and security design, then a milestone plan with acceptance criteria you can review.
03
Iterative build with demos
Short cycles, working software demonstrated regularly, automated tests and a staging environment your team can try.
04
Launch, handover, evolve
Deployment, training and documentation, then either a maintenance retainer or a continuing roadmap with the same team.

Application development: questions UK buyers ask.
What is the difference between a website and a web application?
A website presents information to visitors; a web application lets people log in and do work: manage records, process orders, collaborate, report. Applications need authentication, data models, permissions and integrations, which is why they are scoped and built differently.
How long does application development take?
A focused first release of a business application is typically a matter of months rather than weeks, depending on the number of roles, integrations and workflows. We agree milestones with acceptance criteria so progress is visible throughout.
Can you build a SaaS product we can sell to customers?
Yes. SaaS builds add multi-tenancy, subscription billing (Stripe or GoCardless), onboarding, usage limits and operational tooling. We plan those from the first release so they do not have to be retrofitted.
Will the application work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Web applications are built responsive by default, and where field or offline use matters we can add a progressive web app or a native mobile app that shares the same backend.
Who owns the code and the data?
You do. Repositories, cloud accounts and data stores are set up in your organisation’s name, with documentation and handover so you are never locked in.
How do you handle security and UK GDPR in a bespoke application?
Role-based access control, encryption, audit logging, secure coding practices and dependency monitoring are standard. We work with your data protection lead on retention, subject access and any DPIA the processing requires.
