Mobile app development for UK businesses.
A good app earns its place on someone’s home screen. Krapton designs and builds iOS and Android apps for UK businesses and founders: customer apps, member and booking apps, companion apps for an existing service and internal tools for teams who work away from a desk.
Most projects use one cross-platform codebase in React Native or Flutter, so iOS and Android ship together and stay in step; we recommend native Swift or Kotlin where an app depends on deep device features. Every app comes with the backend, admin tools, analytics and app-store preparation it needs, quoted in GBP and handed over in your company’s name.

Why UK businesses
choose Krapton for mobile app development.
One codebase, both stores
Cross-platform builds share the product logic between iOS and Android, so features, fixes and releases reach both sets of users together.
Designed for thumbs, not desktops
Journeys designed and tested on real phones: short flows, clear states for slow connections, and accessible type, contrast and touch targets.
The backend comes with it
Accounts, notifications, payments and the admin tools your team uses to run the app, built alongside it rather than bolted on later.
Ready for review and for UK GDPR
Permissions, privacy details and data handling prepared for App Store and Google Play review, with UK GDPR considered from the first design.

What the engagement can include.
Define the mobile-specific needs: offline behaviour, notifications, device permissions and account recovery. These choices shape both the app and its backend.
Mobile journeys and interactive prototypes
Cross-platform applications and backend integration
Device testing and app-store submission support

A clear path
from brief to release.
Four stages, each producing something you can see and decide on. Milestones, acceptance criteria and demonstrations are agreed before we commit.
01
Discovery and journeys
Users, core journeys, the device features the app needs and the systems it connects to. A prioritised scope and a written quote in GBP.
02
Design and prototype
An interactive prototype of the main flows, tested on phones before production code starts.
03
Build and test
Short cycles with test builds you can install on your own phones, checked across screen sizes and operating-system versions.
04
Release and improve
App Store and Google Play submission, crash reporting and analytics in place, then updates planned from how people use the app.

Mobile app development: questions UK buyers ask.
How much does it cost to develop an app in the UK?
It depends on the platforms, the number of core journeys, the backend and integrations such as payments or bookings. We quote a defined scope in GBP after a short discovery.
Should we build a native or a cross-platform app?
Cross-platform (React Native or Flutter) suits most business apps: one codebase, both stores and a lower cost of change. Native Swift and Kotlin make sense when an app leans heavily on device hardware, complex graphics or platform-specific features. We recommend one after discovery and explain why.
Do you publish the app to the App Store and Google Play?
Yes. We prepare the store listings, privacy details and review notes and submit the builds, with the developer accounts held in your company’s name so the apps remain yours.
Can you take over an existing app?
Yes. We start with a review of the code, dependencies, crash reports and store ratings, stabilise what matters most and then agree a roadmap for updates.
How long does it take to build an app?
A focused first release usually takes a few months from the end of discovery. The scope decisions made in discovery affect the timeline more than the choice of technology.
Who owns the app and the source code?
You do. Code, store accounts and design files are set up in your organisation’s name and assigned to you under a contract governed by the law of England and Wales.
